Mum and Dad seem to be settling in for a quiet winter!

These shots were taken yesterday. The pair seem to be very settled and quite close as I've observed them fly off the ledges and return together an hour or so later. I think I've seen one of the offspring but I can't be sure.

When the other half does a poo you need to watch out!

These juvenile Peregrines are growing up fast!

I find it amazing how these young Peregrines are learning so fast. I'm also surprised how that respect their elder siblings and wait to be allowed to join in the feast! Both of these birds have grey beaks and yellowy breasts which I think confirms that they are juveniles. Their behaviour is different to that of an adult Peregrine in that they cover their catch, with the intent of keeping it for themselves rather than the adult who will allow the youngsters to join them and will feed them beak to beak.

the elder juvenile comes back with a meal followed in hot pursuit by a youngster
will the older juvenile share the meal?
Pretty certain a pigeon!
the elder juvenile covers the catch to prevent the younger one from seizing it
the youngster plays fair and submits to the elder

These Sparrows are everywhere!
Oh my God - they've been killed? Oh, they're just having a dust bath! Phew!
I think I've got growing pains!
Hello our kid!

Peregrines and other things!

There is still plenty to see despite the 2 chicks spending time now on the wing. If you are patient you will see them return to the larder most days. When things are quiet then there is always something else nearby to snap at!

Having now fledged these two Peregrine chicks are extremely demanding and vocal!

Already at home on the wing
One youngster pesters Dad for food
There is clearly not enough space on this perch for two!
It gets a bit uncomfortable
Blooming kids!
Dad decides to clear off!
And leaves the youngster behind
The hungry chick then decides to take a look in the larder
And guess what - good old Mum and Dad have left some scram for him!

Duck for dinner again!

Not sure what duck this is?
Great Crested Grebe I fear?

A very confusing Peregrine nest!

After enjoying taking pictures of the Peregrines today I am now completely confused! There were always only 2 chicks but now there seems to be 3? I think a 3rd chick flew in when the female brought food! At the time I took these pictures there were 5 birds - 3 chicks with the female and a male perched on the lookout post! Weird!

One of the original chicks is on the ledge far left!
Feeding time!
The female with 3 others!
The female is feeding all 3 birds
Confusing?

The Peregrines and Kestrels fledged or are near to fledging!

The two Peregrines have grown so much!
A poor Great Crested Grebe on the menu I think?
Waiting for dinner!
Now the Kestrels have fledged they are all over the place!
I fear that only two of the Kestrels have survived!
The male Peregrine keeps watch!
These rocks can be slippy!
When food is delivered it causes mayhem in the Kestrel family!
With a great deal of stealing and stealing back!
A beautiful Kestrel chick!
A proud Peregrine Dad!

All chicks are doing well!

The PF's chicks are starting to lose their white down feathers and are growing fast. I hope to get some decent shots of them soon but the problem is the adults don't like me being there and I have no intention of disturbing these birds just for a photograph. The Kestrel chicks are flourishing as you can see from this picture below. The parents are bringing voles to the nest very regularly which is great to observe.
