These juvenile Peregrines are growing up fast!

I find it amazing how these young Peregrines are learning so fast. I'm also surprised how that respect their elder siblings and wait to be allowed to join in the feast! Both of these birds have grey beaks and yellowy breasts which I think confirms that they are juveniles. Their behaviour is different to that of an adult Peregrine in that they cover their catch, with the intent of keeping it for themselves rather than the adult who will allow the youngsters to join them and will feed them beak to beak.

Peregrines and other things!

There is still plenty to see despite the 2 chicks spending time now on the wing. If you are patient you will see them return to the larder most days. When things are quiet then there is always something else nearby to snap at!

Having now fledged these two Peregrine chicks are extremely demanding and vocal!

It gets a bit uncomfortable

And guess what - good old Mum and Dad have left some scram for him!

Great Crested Grebe I fear?

A very confusing Peregrine nest!

After enjoying taking pictures of the Peregrines today I am now completely confused! There were always only 2 chicks but now there seems to be 3? I think a 3rd chick flew in when the female brought food! At the time I took these pictures there were 5 birds - 3 chicks with the female and a male perched on the lookout post! Weird!

I fear that only two of the Kestrels have survived!
